An Intentional Rural Community (IRC)
to be located in Canada

The WCN's IRC project is about creating a community where people can live in balance and harmony. Our vision is one in which a group of men, women, adolescents, and children of all ages and backgrounds live in a beautiful natural environment and use wholistic approaches to grow food, build shelters, create enterprises, organize themselves, participate in cultural activities, and be of service to their neighbours.

The interim project co-ordinator, Michael Greenstein, founder of the Wholistic Community Network (WCN), has created a 9-page proposal / invitation in which he describes his IRC vision, what he is prepared to commit to the project, what he needs in return, suggested time frames, etc. You can download this proposal from the links below in either PDF or MS Word format. All feedback is most welcome.

Supporting the IRC proposal is a Land Acquisition Guide which can be used to identify the positive and negative features of any rural property being considered for rental or purchase. If you would like a copy, download it from the links below in either PDF or MS Word format. Again, all feedback is most welcome.

Cross-Canada Trip: To ensure the eventual success of the WCN's IRC, Michael left Montreal on Aug 1, 2007 and is travelling across Central and Western Canada visiting other forming and existing IRC's as well as giving talks and workshops on wholism. Michael has created a travel journal to keep WCN members and site visitors informed of what's happening. We hope you find it informative.

We invite good people from all backgrounds who believe in wholistic principles and practices to pool their resources with us and create a special community in which to live and work. Please contact Michael Greenstein at  michael@wholcom.net
