![]() There are many acts of heroism being performed by ordinary people around us each day. While they are a source of inspiration and hope for us all, they can not hide the fact that our world is terribly out of balance. The gap between those who possess money, knowledge, and power, and the rest of humanity, grows wider each day. In societies throughout the world, the human plagues of materialism, competitiveness, and egoism are destroying families, cultures, workplaces, and natural environments. The Wholistic Community Network was created in response to these conditions; offering solutions and acting as a vehicle for change. Our Vision: A balanced world where people are encouraged to be clever and kind, where science and spirituality are equally valued, where co-operation has replaced competition in all human activities, and all forms of life are treated with dignity and respect. Today's Reality: An unbalanced world where mental cleverness is valued above compassion, where the powerful few control the many, where competitiveness is turned outward on others instead of inward for personal growth, and all forms of life are being manipulated for their commercial value. The Need: To survive and thrive in the 21st century by developing more balanced and harmonious ways of living together. The old approaches aren't working and we need to look at some new beliefs, values, and models. Our Solution: Wholism; an integrated approach to living that addresses the full range of human needs and encourages the balanced use of all our personal and natural resources. Wholistic living involves spiritual connection, scientific training, self awareness, compassion, co-operation, and active involvement in the world. Our Mission: To help individuals, families, communities, and nations learn a new paradigm or model for living called wholism and to encourage its adoption in all areas of human life. Our educational vehicles are the talks, workshops, courses, conferences, and gatherings we organize and our web site. Our Organization: Founded in 1998 by Michael Greenstein, wholistic educator and productivity coach, the WCN welcomes members from all backgrounds and occupations who believe in wholism and want to actively support our mission. On the Site: You'll find an articles
library, links to online information sources, profiles of some remarkable wholistic practitioner's, a free online course, an activities page, and a membership information page. If you are looking for ways of creating more balance and harmony in your life and in the world, please explore our site and consider joining the WCN community. Michael Greenstein
